2020 Cross Country Succes!

There are two young ladies I would like to highlight from Texas Thunder Track Club. 1st Emma Wade, an 8th grader, 2nd Isa Conde Frankenberg, a freshman.
These two young ladies embraced and conquered their cross country seasons.

Emma Wade is an 8th grader in LISD at Styles Middle school. She won all of her races, was district champ and dropped amazing times in her 2 mile races.

Isa Conde Frankenberg is a freshman in LISD at Cedar Park High School. She was always in the top 3 finishers her entire season, low 17’s in her 5k races, and was crowned the 5A state champion.

Both of these young ladies have great work ethic and embraced the process with Coach Roddy to help them reach their goals. We are very excited to see what their future holds.

Consistency is key

Our world is upside down and inside out right now. The one things these kids know, is that Coach Roddy and Texas Thunder is here for them. Offering 3 different practice times helps keep the groups small and helps everyone feel safe. This allows the athletes to continue to train, gain speed, and reach their goals. We cannot control the ever changing policies of today in dealing with the pandemic, but this team is doing a great job at keeping it ‘normal’ at the track.

2020 1st meet domination

Texas Thunder Track Club ventured out this weekend to compete. Masked up and ready, these athletes did an amazing job. Texas Thunder represented in almost every event possible with only a handful of athletes. The sprinters were hungry for competition and ate up the track in the 60, 100, and 200. Mid-distance Texas Thunder athletes showed up and showed out. First meet of their season due to the Pandemic, but you wouldn’t know it. Texas Thunder came and looked very comfortable on the track while leading the way.  3000 and 1500 was the playground for Texas Thunder athletes. Looking forward to seeing them continue to bring it to the table.

Track Coaches bring something special to the table!

Day in and day out there are track and field coaches out there helping athletes of all sports get better and reach their goals. Track coaches teach discipline and respect beyond the sport. Athletes working under the specialized track coach, gain life lessons that lead them through situations they didn't know they would encounter. I have seen Coach Roddy of Texas Thunder Track Club drive all over to train athletes. He coaches elementary age athletes to professional adults, the novice to the elite.

The athletes depicted above are high school football players and NFL picks, professional baseball players, youth basketball players, etc. They have become unstoppable with adding the special ingredients track and field adds. The strength of the lungs, the understanding of the body, and the ability to combine the knowledge with the skill allow these athletes to reach levels beyond imagination.
